Concrete patios in Kissing Tree, San Marcos. Level, step-free and easy underfoot.

Kissing Tree is a 55+ active-adult community south of San Marcos, with a resort-style amenity center, a golf course and a trail network.

For Kissing Tree homeowners, a patio is about comfort and safety as much as looks. We build level, slip-resistant patios and walkways with smooth transitions at the door, so the backyard is easy to use every day.

Slope away from the house

Every patio we pour in Kissing Tree, San Marcos falls away from the house, so rain leaves the back door and heads for the yard.

What Kissing Tree owners ask for

Level surfaces without trip edges, a patio that meets the door threshold cleanly, textured finishes with good grip, and room for a table under shade. Many also want a walkway from the driveway or garden that is easy to walk at night.

Kissing Tree soil and water

A patio that settles creates the trip edges that matter most here. We build on a compacted crushed-rock base and slope every surface so water does not pond where people walk.

Common Kissing Tree projects

  • Patio extensions. More room for seating and a table, flush with the existing slab.
  • Level walkways. Smooth paths with gentle slopes instead of steps where possible.
  • Slip-resistant finishes. Broom, exposed aggregate, or stamped with anti-slip sealer.
  • Trip-edge repair. Replacing settled sections that have lifted or sunk.

HOA approval. Kissing Tree has community guidelines for exterior changes. We provide a drawn layout and finish details for review.

Can you remove the step down from our back door?

Often we can raise the patio closer to the threshold or replace a step with a gentle slope. It depends on the house and the grade, which we check at the assessment.

What finish is least slippery?

Broom finish and exposed aggregate have the best grip. Stamped concrete works too with an anti-slip additive in the sealer.
